The US comedian Bob Saget has died at the age of 65, the police said.
Saget, best known for starring on US sitcoms such as Full House, was pronounced dead in a hotel room in Orlando, Florida.
Officials from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were called after reports of an unresponsive man at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Saget was identified at the scene and pronounced dead.
Police said no evidence of foul play was found.
“This morning MPs were called over an unresponsive man in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes,” said the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
“The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced dead at the scene.
“The detectives found no evidence of foul play or drug use in this case.”
Saget had just started his new stand-up tour in 2022 and previously tweeted about his show in Jacksonville and expressed his joy at performing again.
“Loved the show tonight @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Acknowledging audience, ”he tweeted.
“Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening it up.
“Little did I know I was doing a 2 hour set tonight. I’m happily addicted to that shit again. “
British comedian and host of Great British Bake Off, Matt Lucas, praised Saget as a “wonderfully naughty comedian”.
“In terrible shock at the terrible news of Bob Saget’s sudden death,” wrote Lucas on Twitter.
“He was a warm, kind, humble man and a great naughty comedian who was always so adept at walking the line.
“He will be missed very much.”
