A man who is considered a guardian for Vladimir Putin is said to have shot himself in the Kremlin.
33-year-old Mikhail Valeryevich Zakharov committed suicide overnight while on duty.
Some reports say he worked for the Federal Protection Service’s (BFS) personnel protection department, which is directly responsible for Putin’s security.
“The employee committed suicide while on duty. An investigation into the case has begun, ”an“ informed ”source told the Russian news agency TASS.
Other reports say that the deceased’s nameless wife was informed of his death, but no mention of suicide was made.
Izvestia said he was found “unconscious” near the main cathedrals in the Kremlin.

The man’s death is due to the fact that officials of the elite Kremlin Protection Service are exposed to a heavy workload due to a lack of staff.
Some have complained that they are not paid for extra hours of work.
