We’re only 3 months into 2021 so we shouldn’t be rushing the year, but as far as TV is concerned, there’s nothing we can do about it. Every fan knows the faster the months fly by, the sooner they can start a new season of their favorite show. But how long do fans of Netflix original Gentefied – that comedy drama based on a Mexican-American household – have to wait to see Gentefied period two? To be fair, it’s in the air.
Filming began in February, as stated by Netflix’s Con Todo Twitter account. But in the era of COVID, starting filming doesn’t mean production won’t be delayed due to virus-related issues.
Hopefully this won’t be the case, but based on What’s On Netflix it’s best to prepare for at least a late 2021 release or worst case an early 2022 premiere to look forward to in the new year .
Fans can also look forward to America Ferrera’s surrender to the director’s chair for Season 2 of Gentefied. The star actress, who produces the series, chose to Instagram the day before filming began, expressing her enthusiasm for what’s to come.
What can fans expect from Gentefied season 2?

It’s an apt description when you consider where Gentefied season one ended.
Although the Morales family welcomed Erik’s newborn into their fold, Pop was picked up by ICE without knowledge. Mama Fina’s, the family business, barely took off and caused a rift between Ana and Yessika. Chris finally has the chance to go to culinary school, but he may not be able to go between the restaurant and his loved ones. And of course Mama Fina’s is dangerously close to turning into a themed pop-up venue.
The enthusiasts and the Morales are certainly in for a lot in Gentefied season 2, when it happens to arrive!
