What if you have to postpone your wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic, but now have your wedding favors – over 100 chocolate bunnies – just seated? You throw a rabbit wedding, of course!
Twitter user @thaispicytravel (whose real name seems to be Mark) published an article on this hilarious dilemma, which frankly gave me something to laugh about during this period of existential dread and uncertainty.
“So our wedding was postponed for obvious reasons and we had 115 chocolate Lindt rabbits as wedding gifts – the time of a rabbit wedding, of course,” he published on March 25. The tweet included four actual photos from the ceremony, accompanied by a bridal rabbit in a veil, a groom’s rabbit in a tie, rings, and a officiant with a very short speech.
People on Twitter live for the chocolate bunny wedding, and they come hot with the jokes. “If I was trapped in my house with 115 shock rabbits … Well, now I would be trapped in my house with 2 or 3 shock rabbits,” replied one user.
“It’s such a fight. We had to send them back …” wrote Mark in response.
Meanwhile, another user whose wedding plans were suspended shared his party leftovers, which were far less delicious than Lindt’s chocolate bunnies. (Sorry, it’s just the truth.)
“This could be a good thread. Marriages canceled and share your [leftover] favors! “@ bobbydav1986
sharing. “We now have 26 bars of handmade soap to use.” In fact, they can be in much better shape. We could all use more soap at the moment.
Mark replied that he was sure that many other couples were facing a similar dilemma at this time. Fortunately for him, he said: “Most of our family has (without surprise) already graciously offered to take the rabbits away from us …”
Keep a couple for us.
