WhatsApp Web starts receiving voice and video calls

One feature that WhatsApp users have been looking forward to for a long time is about to reach those who haven’t left the tool. According to WABetaInfo, video and audio calls for a few people have landed on the web version of the app this week, and the tendency is that they are starting to expand to an increasing audience.

Images published on social networks show that the classic icons already present on smartphones also appeared on the screens of PCs and Macs. It should be noted that both have a ‘beta’ label, that is, they still need to be improved.

How it works?

Once a contact has been accepted, a new window will open. Allows you to accept or reject the call. Plus, the popup stays active while the gossip is going on, even offering the options to toggle both video and audio on and off with the ongoing conversation, reproducing the WhatsApp experience for iOS and Android.

There is still no published timetable for implementation – it could take months to consolidate. We keep an eye on that.
