It was an unusually warm start to 2022, with temperatures well above average in many areas of the country.
However, the cold conditions are expected to return and the mercury is expected to drop to freezing point or below, especially at night.
This means that many are hoping their winter fuel allowance will arrive so they can spend it keeping the house warm and cozy.
However, you may not have received your payment yet. Hence, you may want to know when you will be receiving your winter fuel allowance and what to do if the money is not in your bank account. Here is everything we know
When do I get the winter fuel allowance and how do I apply if I haven’t been paid?
The government states that winter fuel allowance payments should be automatically paid to beneficiaries in November and December.
However, the final date for the cash in your bank account for the 2021/22 Winter Fuel Allowance payments is Friday, January 14th, 2022.
This means that you will have to wait until that date to receive your money. The money is likely to be large, so it may take time to receive your money.
However, if you have not received your money by the above deadline, please contact the Winter Fuel Allowance Payment Center.
