It could be the answer for anyone sharing one bed with another – pong-destroying sheets.
According to Der Spiegel, the age-old adage “Better out than in” doesn’t always feel right – especially when you’re in bed.
But a company may be in the process of putting an end to the problem of your partner getting too windy in bed – and it could potentially save relationships.
One of the big problems with sharing a bed is excessive noise and odor, especially if it happens all the time.
But this anti-wind bedding could be the product of the Shreddies company, which previously launched anti-flatulence underwear on the market.
According to the company, the duvet cover and pad have carbon sheets built in to trap smelly gas to help those affected – and the unlucky ones who sleep next to them.
One duvet description stated, “The Flatulence Filtering Duvet Cover contains a built-in carbon fiber panel to trap gas before it escapes through your duvet.
“You can just put your own duvet in the cover and your gas will be filtered discreetly all night.
“Using the same technology found in our award-winning underwear, the porous charcoal attracts and traps gas odor and is simply reactivated when washed.”
The company estimates the average person farts up to 20 times each night. Spokeswoman Rebecca Jones said, “Many have excessive gas at night. This is because the gas in your body “pools” while lying in your colon instead of gradually coming out as it does during the day.
“This gas is released all night and can cause restless sleep and an unpleasant odor.”
And the new product seems to be a hit, as she adds: “The bed linen is selling very well and we are very happy with the first sales.”
The company said, “We know from conversations with our customers that night gas can drive spouses out of the marriage bed.”
