A woman added a third person to her marriage after falling in love with a stranger at the gym.

Saskia Michalki, 28, was with her husband Marcin, 34, for four years when she met a woman in a fitness class she was teaching in late 2019.

She got close to 29-year-old Lui, who is a lesbian, at the gym and they started spending more time together as friends.

Realizing that she had developed a romantic bond with her new buddy, Saskia shared her feelings with Marcin, who is straight.

The woman from Hamburg says her husband is understanding and not surprised by the news.

Saskia, who owns a media company with her two lovers, said: “I had a major identity crisis when I fell in love with Lui.

“I always thought that the only way to fall in love with a new person was if you felt less for your partner – but that wasn’t the case.

“I loved Marcin as much as I did in the beginning, and the last thing I wanted was to lose him.

“But suddenly my feelings for Lui were there and I couldn’t deny them anymore.”

She added, “Marcin and I have always been extremely monogamous – we dreamed of a house and kids and thought we would be against the world forever.

“We had a dream wedding in 2016 and were both 100% exclusive and not interested in anything outside of our relationship.

“I talked to Marcin about my feelings for Lui and cried and was scared because I didn’t want to lose him.

“To my surprise, he just smiled and said, ‘Don’t you think I noticed these feelings – maybe even before you noticed them?’

“I had talked so much about her, but he said, ‘What’s the problem? Two plus one equals three ”.

“From then on I knew that I was free to explore further what was between Lui and me.”

Saskia and Lui started dating and instantly bonded, and within a few weeks the trio had decided to move the relationship forward as a threesome.

Six months later, they moved into a new apartment together.

Marcin and Lui built a platonic bond that resulted in them becoming “best friends” while Saskia takes turns sharing a bed with each of them.

While Marcin and Saskia share their legal surname, Lui has adopted it as a “stage name” because she is not legally married to them.

They are currently looking for a way to officially give her the last name.

Saskia said, “We always say we are family. Lui and Marcin are like best friends or siblings – their love is queer-platonic and they have no sexual or romantic relationship with one another.

“The three of us work like a team.”

Their coexistence was aided by the fact that neither Marcin nor Lui are inherently jealous, which Saskia calls “happiness”.

She said, “There’s no real reason to be jealous either. Both get a lot of love from me and from each other.

“We don’t feel like we share any love – it’s more like we all put our love in one big bucket and it becomes so much more love.

“It is really important that we are not two relationships – we are a family, a team.”

When it comes to intimacy, the trio say sex takes a back seat – and they never get intimate threesomes.

Saskia said, “Marcin and I have a sex life and Lui and I have a sex life. There is no such thing as a triple sex life.

“People often reduce our relationship to sex. The funny thing is, none of us are super needy or really care about sex.

“We value cuddling, friendliness and kisses so much higher than sex.

“People always imagine that it has to be complicated when someone is super horny and desperately wants sex and the other has to go to the room or whatever – that’s absolutely unrealistic in our case.

“We have never had a situation in which one had to hear the other through the door or something.”

Now Saskia and her lovers want to start a family together and hope that one day people will be more tolerant of their relationship.

She said: “We are convinced that in our relationship we have found the greatest love of our lives.

“We dream of growing old together, raising children and grandchildren and eventually sitting on our porch and looking back on a wonderful family life.

“We don’t have any children yet, but we want to make the world a little more tolerant for them now.”

They recently published a children’s book in German called Muckdiwupp, which examines different types of families – including polyamorous parents, gay parents, single parents, and heterosexual parents.

Saskia added, “We think it’s so important to showcase the different types of families there are for kids so that kids don’t feel weird who don’t fit the straight norm.

“Since we publicly outed our relationship on social media, our lives have changed. We have gained hundreds of thousands of followers within a year and we believe this is because people are hungry to learn about non-monogamous lifestyles.

“We believe people want and need to hear that it’s okay not to pursue the Disney dream of being with someone forever.

“We want to give a glimpse into our private lives so that people can see that we are not crazy and not sex-hungry hedonists.

“Our relationship works and we don’t hurt anyone. We are normal people who happened to fall in love twice. “
