Woman wants you to see the injuries her violent boyfriend inflicted

A 27-year-old mother of two shared pictures of the injuries inflicted by a partner who hit and bit her.

Craig Pilkington of Mochdre, Conwy appeared before the Llandudno judges on Friday October 22nd pleading guilty to assault charges

Rebecca Mavin, 27, has now shared pictures of bruises on her face, swollen lips and cuts on her throat.

Pilkington was given a suspended prison sentence and fined a total of £ 920. He was also the subject of a restraining order, reported North WalesLive.

Rebecca said that glimpses of Pilkington’s violent nature on June 10 this year turned into an attack on her after a dispute over social media.

The couple had argued in the car on the way home, and when Rebecca got out of the car and walked to her front door, Pilkington threw her to the ground and “bit her face,” she said.

Rebecca said, “I begged him to stop, and he bites my face and nose.

“I started screaming for help and at this point he was trying to silence me by covering my mouth and holding my neck so tight that the skin on my upper mouth was torn.

“I’ve never been so scared in my life and thought, ‘This is it, he’s going to kill me’, I have children, this hideous, unprovoked attack could have taken me away from them.

“Thankfully, my neighbor came out from above after hearing my ‘swaying’ screams outside of his hands as he opened his doors and Craig quickly stepped off me and walked down the side of the building.

“At that moment I ran the other way and my neighbor let me into their house and called the police. When I waited for the police, I had no phone or keys because Craig took them. They found them on the street where he had them tossed them when he left.

“People need to know that it is unacceptable for a man to hit a woman, and it is okay for women to talk about it.

“He pleaded guilty to the charges against him and was still sentenced so mildly, what will it take?

“I understand the verdict is more like something than nothing, but it should have been locked up and the keys thrown away, I feel like I and many others have been let down by the judiciary.”

She added, “This man threw me around my yard, nailed me to the ground, lay down on me, bit my nose and face, and then tried to put his hand over my mouth and throat until I couldn’t breathe .

“I think I’m lucky to be alive, it could have been worse, but for me that was the worst.

“Raising awareness that these things are wrong is my goal for the future. I can’t take back the past, but I can hopefully prevent it from happening again.”
