A YouTuber found himself in hot water after filming himself tied his Pomeranian dog to a pile of helium balloons and floating it away as part of a viral stunt.
Gaurav Sharma, known online as Gauravzone, uploaded the Pet Dollar clip to his four million YouTube subscribers but was quickly swamped by complaints from animal rights groups.
The clip shows the 32-year-old and another woman making multiple attempts to get dollars floating before finally climbing onto the top of a car and releasing the animal, which eventually crashes onto a nearby balcony while it is off the ground laughing downstairs.
Sharma, of New Delhi, India, removed the video after receiving the complaints and uploaded a separate video apologizing and claiming that he “took all safety precautions” prior to the stunt.
“I admit my mistake, but personally I have taken all safety precautions. I love my pet as much as my child. It was the wrong content that came out. I am also an animal lover. I was influenced by seeing a video from the outside . “he said, as per metro.
“I apologize if you felt bad after watching the Dollar video. I will not try such things again. Those affected by such things, please do not be influenced. If feelings have been hurt, please I really apologize to you. “
Since then, South Delhi Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) Atul Thakur has confirmed that Sharma has been arrested for the viral video and detained under animal cruelty laws.
“He was arrested for animal cruelty by risking the dog’s life via video,” he said.
