Joe Biden warned during the presidential debate on Thursday evening that the US is “about to enter a dark winter,” reiterating the concern of public health experts that the daily Covid-19 case numbers will increase annually Warn flu season.
“We are about to have a dark winter. A dark winter,” Biden said, “and he has no clear plan and there is no prospect that the majority of Americans will have a vaccine before the middle of next year.”
Biden’s remarks came after President Donald Trump presented a rosy, unrealistic timetable for vaccine distribution. In response to the Democratic candidate, the President said, “I don’t know if we will have a dark winter at all. We are opening up our country. We have learned, studied and understood the disease, what we did not do in the beginning.”
