The convicted pedophile Christian Brueckner, 44, is currently in a maximum security prison in Oldenburg, near the small northern prison in Bremen, known as Germany’s Alcatraz.
The public prosecutor has announced that Madeleine McCann is being investigated against Christian Brueckner on suspicion of at least FIVE other sexual crimes.
Hans Christian Wolters, who named Brueckner the prime suspect for Madeleine’s disappearance last year, said investigators believe “there is a good basis” for suspecting that the German pedophile also sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl .
The victim was grabbed by a naked man who was performing a sexual act.
This was six miles from where Maddie disappeared in Praia da Luz, three, a month later in 2007 while on vacation with parents Kate and Gerry.
Mr Wolters said officials are also investigating Brueckner, 44, for the 1996 murder of 16-year-old Carola Titze in De Haan, Belgium, and the rape of a 20-year-old Irish woman in Praia de Rocha, Portugal. in 2004.

And he said his department was called in by officers who investigated Brückner on suspicion of the disappearance of the “German Maddie” – five-year-old Inga Gehricke – in 2015, as well as alleging that he was in front of children in a playground in Messines, 65 km from Praia da Luz in 2017.
Mr Wolters speaks in a new book, My Search for Madeleine, by British journalist Jon Clarke.
Regarding the arrest in Messines, which led to Brueckner’s extradition to Germany, he says: “We have now started the investigation and he is facing several years’ imprisonment.”
When asked about the case of the ten-year-old German girl on a beach in the Algarve in 2007, he said: “We are investigating Christian B’s possible involvement in it.”
To the Irish woman, Mr. Wolters said: “We only have Christian B as a suspect.”
And to Carola Titze he said: “Not so long ago a Belgian public prosecutor had specific questions about Carola. They needed some information about Christian B and we gave it to them. ”
He declined to comment on other cases that Brueckner has been linked to, including that of six-year-old German boy Rene Hasse, who disappeared from a beach in the Algarve in 1996.
