What a Progressive Champion from Rural Maine Can Teach Democrats about Winning

Midterms 2022 are still ten months away – but if most of the media is to be believed, the battle is over before it even begins.

The Wall Street Journal Reports that “the alarm bells are ringing in the Democratic Party”. politics says The Democrats are faced with “the prospect of a 2022 hurricane”. CNN indicates “Dejected” Democrats in the face of a “grim outlook for 2022”. A forecaster at Vox has attached to Democratic chances of losing the House of Representatives and the Senate are 95 percent.

It is true that History does not bode well for the party of the incumbent president during a mid-term election. But when the Democrats accept failure as inevitable instead of changing course, resignation becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
