So, when exactly does spring 2022 officially start – and when does it make way for the summer?

When does spring 2022 start?
When spring starts depends on how you look at it – whether you go by the start of astronomical spring (the March or spring equinox) or meteorological spring.
The 2022 spring equinox occurs on March 30th, marking the official start of the astronomical spring. At this point, day and night are of equal length.
However, weather forecasters do things slightly differently. The start of the meteorological spring – which forecasters use – is March 1st every year.
When does summer 2022 start?
While spring has plenty of charms of its own, it’s fair to say that most people are probably really looking ahead to the summer.
So when does summer 2022 start? Again, this depends on which yardstick you use. The astronomical summer will start with the summer equinox on June 21st.
However, the meteorological summer will begin on June 1st, as it does every year. The meteorological autumn will then begin on September 1st.
