Neighbours anger as 'Karen' leaves miserable note for them on New Year's Eve

The neighbors were furious after receiving a card asking them to be quiet at 10 p.m. on New Years Eve.

The anonymous post was posted on the Reddit social media site after they received the card in the mail.

People have criticized the note as “passively aggressive” while others referred to the writer as “Karen” for “spoiling games,” the Sun reports.

The card started off nicely and said: “I wish you happy moments, wonderful memories and a very merry Christmas.”

But the message inside didn’t convey much of the seasonal joy as people prepared to celebrate Christmas and New Years.

It read: “Dear neighbor …”

“As we all know, 2021 was a very difficult year for so many in our neighborhood.

“For some it was a job loss, for others it was a loss of income, and for many of us it was a loss of health.

“This holiday season we ask each of us to come together by showing our kindness and consideration for these neighbors during difficult times.

“It all starts with eliminating loud music and fireworks after 10 p.m.

The card concluded, “The best gift we can give is a silent night.”

One of those who received the anonymous card was not happy and went to Reddit to write, “Some Karen have been sending this all over my neighborhood with no return address. I doubt this will be effective.

They added, “In all fairness, most of the noise comes from the apartments about a mile away because they like to shoot fireworks over Christmas and New Years.

“I’m not sure why they sent the cards to the houses as I’ve lived here for 27 years and I haven’t seen anyone go off fireworks or listen to loud music anywhere other than the apartments.”

The post left people divided on whether the person was right or not to ask for some quiet time over the holidays.

One commented, “While that’s a little out there, I’m not really against the message.”

Another agreed and said, “Yes, it sounds like some rude holes are blowing up loud music and firing fireworks after 10pm. I think sending a card is more like “Karen” than calling the police. “

“I’m kind of on Karen’s side here. If she said 7 or 8 it would be one thing, but 10pm is a reasonable time to stop shooting firecrackers and playing house shake music, ”added a third person.

Another commented, “It’s a small pass agg and it’s NYE but IDK …”
