A New York State correction officer trainee was arrested after he allegedly posed as a cop and requested nude pictures from a woman he pulled over on a Long Island highway, authorities said.
David Olivari, 37, of Coram, was busted by Suffolk police Tuesday night on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack as he tried to meet up with one of at least two women he targeted in the past month.
The phony cop is accused of using his gray 2007 Toyota Prius, equipped with a dashboard mounted flashing light, to pull over a female driver at about 3 am Jan. 22 on the Long Island Expressway service road in Ronkonkoma, police said.
During the stop, Olivari allegedly took the woman’s cellphone and got her number before letting her go, authorities said.
Soon after, Olivari allegedly texted the woman, requesting she send him nude photos of herself, police said.
The corrections officer trainee allegedly targeted another woman the following night on Shenandoah Boulevard in Nesconset.
“A similar complaint was made by [the] second woman,” Suffolk police said.
Olivari joined the state Department of Correctional Services and Supervision in August, CBS NY reported† He was placed on administrative leave following his judgment.
Suffolk police charged Olivari with criminal impersonation, larceny, unlawful grand detention and unauthorized use of a computer.
His wife and father attended his Wednesday arrangement, where he was released without bail, the report said.
