North Carolina results to be delayed by 45 minutes

Results in North Carolina will be slightly delayed after the state electoral board decided on Tuesday to extend election times in a few counties as they opened late.

The extensions were granted to one district each in Cabarrus County and Guilford Counties and two districts in Sampson County.

The longest extension lasts 45 minutes and the shortest 17 minutes. The polls are expected to close at 7:30 p.m. The state does not start publishing the results until all polling stations are closed.
