An urgent rescue alert was issued for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since Monday.
Svetlana Murphy, from County Louth, Ireland, left the area three days ago and fears for her welfare are growing.
Police said in a statement that an alert was raised because of concerns that there is “an imminent and serious risk to their health or welfare”.
The teenager left her home in Blackrock around 4 p.m. on Monday accompanied by 18-year-old Nojus Maculevicius.
The couple, traveling in a silver Hyundai Veloster with license plate number 132-D-13518, were spotted in Newry, Co Down that evening.
Garda also believes the vehicle was in the greater Belfast area at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday.
Svetlana is described as 5 feet 1 inches tall with a slender physique, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
When she went missing, she wore a dark blue tracksuit with a red and white stripe on the leg, a black top with a zipper and black runners.
Teen Maculevicius is described as six feet tall with a slender physique, has dark brown hair, and is cleanly shaven.
He was wearing dark gray Snickers work trousers and a black Snickers top. He may also be wearing a khaki hoodie and either black boots or Adidas runners.
Garda has asked those who see the couple not to approach them and instead immediately dial 999 or 112 or the closest Garda station to get as much information as possible.
